Australian Pelican

There's just something about Pelicans. Something indescribable.

Every time I see them, they're just being Pelicans. And they’re so god damned relaxed about it. There's a safety in them, a trust. I always look at them and think to myself: "Oh, there you are, that seems about right". Their relaxedness about life is very calming, and they appear so open to the world moving around them.

They give me the feeling that I'm right where I'm meant to be. They instil faith in the mystery of life.

It's a big call to say that everything in life happens for a reason. Yet I do believe that almost anything can have a reason, if I'm willing to trust. Faith is a powerful tool. However, to use that tool to my advantage, I have to surrender to the unknown. I have to put my faith in the mystery. In this big dance of life, I must let life itself take the lead. And in any moment, life might look me in the eyes and say “forget what people think, and follow me”.

And so I trust that life won't throw me anything I'm not capable of handling, or anything that won't help me grow in the long run. This empowers me to see the opportunity in everything. It allows me to turn poison into medicine, only if I’m able to fully experience whatever life throws at me.

Any day can provide a moment that changes my life forever. I simply must keep being me, whilst remaining open to any experience.

Is there some challenge in your life right now? Could you treat it with more faith, and seek to find the opportunity in it? Do you trust that you're right where you're meant to be? Could you be more open to your life changing in any moment?

Well right now, The Pelican looks over its shoulder at you, and says: "Oh, there you are, that seems about right."
