Eastern Yellow Robin

Often seen perched vertically, on trunks or low plants, the Eastern Yellow Robin will use this angled vantage point to scout the ground for prey.

I often watch them and wonder if they get tired on a sideways perch. Eventually they let go. It reminds me that we can't perch forever, waiting for things to happen. We can't simply hold and hope that situations will change, people will change, or we will change. We sometimes have to sense the moment and let go.

Sometimes we need to let go of people. Let them be. Let go of the idea of what we want them to be. Or let go of ourselves, and the expectation of being something that we're not. There is struggle in holding onto things. Those that are changing beyond our control. It exhausts us. It saps our energy.

It is so freeing to let go. And move on.

Is there something, or someone in your life right now that you're struggling to let go of? The Eastern Yellow Robin gives you courage to do so, with trust, sensitivity and conviction.
