Galah
Galahs often remind me of grandmas, as they potter around in the grass with their pink cardigans and white-grey crown feathers. Though despite looking like grandmas, they behave like grandkids. And I love this about them.
Yes their silliness becomes apparent very quickly, especially in flight, as they chase each other around, swerve erratically and make all sorts of silly noises. As the saying goes, they behave like a pack of galahs.
Furthermore, the colour pink is a very rare colour in the natural world. As for the human world, the colour pink is often a beautiful celebration of immaturity and innocence. And so, the Galahs, in all their pinkish childishness, remind me to stay young at heart.
It's one the most freeing moments when we realise that part of us, never actually has to grow up. We can nurture our innocence and the things that brought us joy and happiness as a child.
Are there a parts of your child-like, joyful ways that you want to play with more? What is your relationship like with your own silliness? Do you feel the freedom to be silly?
