King Parrot
King Parrots regularly interact with humans, and I can't help but love their curiosity and playfulness.
They have this knack of bringing out the little kid in me. A level of playfulness that's inherent with feelings of childishness, and aliveness.
As such, and hence, The King Parrot reminds me of the importance of play. And to take the chance, every day if possible, to get swept up in directionless and non-sensical play. Life can be so serious sometimes. It can be so beneficial to take a break from adulting. And just play, in a way that throws time, tasks and to dos out the window, like being a child again.
Furthermore, the ability to game-ify aspects of life can be so liberating and enlivening. It can turn a mundane moment into fun. It can turn monotony into spontaneity, and there is magic in that. Like how magic is so real when we're kids.
When we do find the time to play, The King Parrot looks at us knowingly to squawk: "You don't stop playing because you get old, you get old because you stop playing."
What do you do for play? Could doing it more often keep you feeling young? Do you find ways to fight the humdrum, by making games of menial tasks?
